Highlights

CMMI® Appraised Companies Continue to Boom

During the last quarter, SECC lead appraisers appraised three Egyptian organizations: "700apps", "IT-Fusion" and "Commercial International Bank (CIB)".

This is in addition to one Chinese company "Xiamen GNSS Development & Application Co., Ltd." to raise the number of appraised CMMI® companies by SECC to 71.​


SECC Provides Technical Support as Part of the National Competence Framework (NCF) Initiative

In March: SECC cooperated with the National Competence Framework (NCF) Initiative team through providing technical support in the adoption of the NCF within the ICT Industry. SECC role covers the onsite/offsite consultation for adoption to the companies, along with assessing the adoption status.

The NCF, is jointly developed by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the International Finance Cooperation (IFC). It was announced as an initiative with the objective of developing a sustainable approach to enhance the employability of Egyptian ICT talent pool and upgrade the quality of training, education through establishing industry-led skills and competencies framework for adoption by the ICT companies as well as the training and selected public and private educational institutes.

SECC launches SPI for SMEs 2017 Program

In March: SECC launched the 13th round of Software Process Improvement (SPI) for Small and Medium Enterprises Program. The program aims at helping Egyptian IT companies to achieve maturity and business success through improving software development and service delivery processes at low cost, with minimal risk and highest flexibility.The program is supported by the SPIG which is an adaptable model of excellence in software development and IT service management based on CMMI® maturity level 3. SPIG has been updated to include innovation management processes. Up to date, more than 160 companies benefited from the program which helped many of them to upgrade to CMMI maturity levels 2 and 3.


VODAFONE and Testpro Renew their ISTQB®Partnership

In February: For the 3rdconsecutive year, Vodafone International Services and Testpro have successfully renewed their respectively Platinum and SilverISTQB®Partnership.The ISTQB®Partner Programrecognizes organizations with a demonstrated commitment to software testing certifications. The Program comprises four levels of partnerships (Silver, Gold, Platinum and Global) and the partnership level of an organization is determined through the number of certification points it has accumulated.

Horizon 2020 Information Day Collaboration and Partnering for 2017 Calls

SECC delivered a session organized by t the Chamber of Information Technology (CIT) The main objective of this session was to discuss the funding opportunities and the upcoming calls in 2017 in different research areas related to ICT for the Egyptian ICT community including enterprises, universities and research institutes.

SECC participated at the Fourth 'Digital Nation' Conference with two sessions about the internationally accepted standards and frameworks that are scrutinized by industry practitioners; and how they were able to make differences to their organizations' practices.

The session address the Global Sourcing Standard which is newly adopted by SECC; and ITIL Overview for Executives. Both are standards that are perfectly positioned to raise an organization's profile and provide it with a cost-effective route to markets that it can trust.​
